You are invited to participate in a thesis study entitled “Self-efficacy and self-stigma variance between Speech Language Pathologists who stutter (SLPs-WS) and do not stutter (SLPs-WDS) toward their clinical service provision” conducted by Kodai Noguchi, in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire under the supervision of Abby Hemmerich, PhD., CCC-SLP. The primary purpose of this study is to document self-efficacy and self-stigma of SLPs-WS and SLPs-WDS related to clinical service provision. Currently limited information is available regarding clinical self-efficacy for SLPs.

You are invited to participate because you are a practicing SLP. We are seeking SLPs who stutter and SLPs who do not stutter, so all practicing SLPs may participate. Your decision to participate in this study is completely voluntary. No identifying information will be recorded and surveys will remain anonymous. The investigators are aware of few benefits and few risks to participants in this study. Research outcomes have the potential to guide future clinical practices and future research studies in the area of fluency disorders/stuttering, as well as clinical self-efficacy for SLPs. Reflecting on your clinical practice and, if you stutter, how your stuttering impacts clinical practice, may lead to slight psychological discomfort. If you agree to participate, you may choose not to answer any given questions and discontinue your participation at any time.

Below is a link to the Qualtrics survey, which is intended to take no longer than 15 minutes. By clicking on the link to the survey, you are giving your informed consent to participate.
